Kompany’s Battle Cry: “It’s Not Over. We Believe. We Wait For Them.”

Vincent Kompany has delivered one of the most rousing calls to arms heard in European football this season — and Bayern Munich’s fanbase is being summoned to play its part in completing one of the great Champions League comebacks.

The backdrop is breathtaking. PSG defeated Bayern 5-4 in one of the most extraordinary Champions League semi-final first legs of all time at the Parc des Princes — racing into a commanding 5-2 lead before Bayern launched a furious late comeback to cut the deficit to just one goal. Despite conceding five goals away from home — a scoreline that would normally spell the end — Bayern scored four and could have had several more, leaving the tie tantalizingly alive ahead of the second leg at the Allianz Arena on May 6.

Now Kompany is turning to the fortress. In an emotional and passionate address to Bayern’s supporters, the Belgian manager made his demands crystal clear — only the fittest, loudest, most committed fans should take their seats next Wednesday night.

“If someone bought a ticket and feels unwell on the day of the game, stay at home and give your ticket to the fittest of Bayern fans,” he urged. “We need who can contribute to this fortress — the Allianz Arena. We must win the game and we need the support of 75,000 people in the stadium. They have to play the game with us.”

He then raised the emotional temperature even further. “The atmosphere will be crazy. We will leave it all on the pitch. We are ready to die on the pitch if it’s needed.”

And then, in three lines that will echo around Bavaria for days: “It’s not over. We believe. We wait for them.”

Kompany acknowledged the vulnerabilities on the night — particularly Bayern’s susceptibility to the counter in the second half — but insisted the belief within the camp remains total: “Four goals in Paris shows that we can score goals. And we’ll show that again at home. The belief is 100 percent there.”

Kompany, who will be back in the dugout for the return leg after serving a touchline ban at the Parc des Princes, has now won both of his previous Champions League meetings against Luis Enrique’s PSG — and he clearly believes a third is within reach.

The Allianz Arena has witnessed miracles before. On May 6, Bayern will need another one. And Kompany is making sure no seat goes to waste.
