Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz, a 24-year-old born in Malaga, Spain, has opted to change his international allegiance due to his limited playing time with the Spanish national team.

Having earned just 1 cap for Spain in 2021 and no appearances since, Diaz has made the decision to switch teams.

Raised in Malaga, he began his youth career in Southern Spain before spending 3 years in East Manchester and eventually moving to Real Madrid.

Despite his previous representation of Spain at youth level, the former Manchester City player has now chosen to play for Morocco.

The Moroccan Football Association will need to approve this change and will submit a request to FIFA to alter Diaz’s nationality.
