Manchester United are reportedly being cautious in their approach to securing a new contract for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. In fact, they have already begun searching for a potential replacement for the right-back. Wan-Bissaka’s performances at Old Trafford have been inconsistent, leading to uncertainty about his future with the club.

With just one season remaining on his current contract, Manchester United seem reluctant to offer Wan-Bissaka an extension, which increases the likelihood of a possible departure in the summer. If Wan-Bissaka does leave, Diogo Dalot would be the only natural right-back left in the squad. As a result, Manchester United are exploring options in the transfer market.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Manchester United are considering Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan as potential replacements for Wan-Bissaka. Both Dutch players could fit into the club’s future plans, similar to current United coach Erik ten Hag.

While the financial details of these potential transfers have not been disclosed yet, Dumfries might be a more accessible option as his contract with Inter expires at the same time as Wan-Bissaka’s contract with Manchester United. On the other hand, Frimpong has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s main focus remains on strengthening their squad to compete for league titles. Both Frimpong and Dumfries have performed well for their respective clubs in the Bundesliga and Serie A. However, it is still uncertain how they will develop. It will take several months before Manchester United can finalize a move for Wan-Bissaka’s potential successor.
