History Made: Barcelona Complete A Perfect Home Record In La Liga 2025/26 — The First Time In 65 Years
FC Barcelona have done something no team in the modern La Liga era has ever done before — and they’ve done it in the same season they lifted the title. A record for the ages.
The Perfect Home Season
FC Barcelona have completed a perfect season at home in La Liga. Hansi Flick’s side defeated Real Betis 3-1 in their final home match to record 19 wins from 19 home games during the 2025/26 campaign — the first side to achieve a perfect home record since the league expanded to 20 teams.
Barcelona still had a chance to hit the 100-goal mark for the season, which would have made them only the third team in La Liga history to do so. Statistically, this Barcelona side is being hailed as one of the most dominant forces Spanish football has ever witnessed.
A Record 65 Years In The Making
Such a feat has not been seen at Barça since the 1959/60 season, when a team led by Helenio Herrera won all their matches at the Spotify Camp Nou, in a league that then consisted of just 16 teams. In fact, Helenio Herrera is the only FC Barcelona coach who can boast of having achieved this feat on two occasions, after also leading the team to a full house of home wins in the 1958/59 season. Previously, FC Barcelona had also achieved a perfect home record in the 1952/53 season with Ferdinand Daucik as coach, and going even further back, in the 1948/49 season under Uruguayan coach Enrique Fernández — both at the old Les Corts Stadium.
Champions — Again
Barcelona became the 2025/26 La Liga champions in the sweetest way possible, winning El Clásico 2-0 to celebrate their 29th La Liga crown in front of bitter rivals Real Madrid. A jaw-dropping free kick from Marcus Rashford and a Ferran Torres strike were enough for Barcelona to triumph over Los Blancos.
With the 2025/26 title in the bag, Barcelona become the first team to successfully defend the La Liga trophy since the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons, when the Blaugrana under Ernesto Valverde claimed back-to-back championships. With this triumph, the club has now won 11 of the last 18 league championships — an extraordinary figure that illustrates their remarkable consistency.
Flick’s Legacy Grows
A day that started with mourning following the passing of Hansi Flick’s father ended with the German boss getting tossed in the air as he successfully led Barcelona’s title defence to collect the fifth trophy of his tenure.
Joan Garcia, Marcus Rashford, João Cancelo and Roony Bardghji all became Spanish champions for the first time — new heroes written into Barça’s golden history.
Season At A Glance
Barcelona’s biggest home win this season was a stunning 6-0 demolition of Valencia on 14 September 2025, with the highest scoring game of their campaign being a thrilling 5-3 victory over Real Betis in December. They also recorded the longest winning run in the division — nine consecutive wins, achieved twice.
This is not just a title — this is a Barcelona team rewriting history, one home win at a time.
