Manchester City’s owners City Group have set the precedent worldwide with their purchase of various clubs while owning Manchester City, and Todd Boehly wants to follow their model.
Boehly has been linked with various clubs in the last few weeks and the latest report is linking him to the purchase of French club Strasbourg.
The owner of Strasbourg is already in discussions with Todd Boehly.

According to L’Equipe, Todd Boehly is interested in purchasing RC Strasbourg as he looks to expand the Chelsea empire.
It’s a system that has worked well for City Group and Boehly is likely looking to build an empire that would possibly be something of a Chelsea group.
Todd Boehly is interested in buying a 100% stake in Strasbourg, and talks have taken place between the American and the owner of Strasbourg Mark Keller.
Strasbourg currently sit 15th in the French league and could do with a financial boost to try and climb the table in Ligue 1.
Todd Boehly has fallen in love with football and is now eager to grow the empire he’s trying to build.
Buying Strasbourg could provide Chelsea with an easy loan network to help develop their players in the coming years.
Nothing is official yet and it’s just talks for now, but Boehly is extremely interested and the idea is being explored.
