Declan Rice will leave West Ham United this summer.
That much at this stage is evidently clear but one question that does remain is which club the midfielder will join.
Chelsea have always had interest in Rice and at one stage last season looked to the sole destination of the English midfielder.
Times have changed since then, but the interest remains.
The expectation is that Chelsea will battle Arsenal for his signing in the summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have discussed the possibility of signing Declan Rice internally.
He is a target for the summer transfer window.
The race for Rice is open in the summer, and there is no clear favorite as things stand despite various reports claiming that Arsenal were well in the lead to sign the West Ham midfielder.
Champions League football could be a factor, and it may play into the final decision of Rice but Chelsea are not likely to be deterred by that when it comes down to making an attempt to sign Rice.
As of this moment neither club have approached West Ham, and any deal will depend on how much they want in the end for the player.
The price at the moment being branded is around £80million.
Chelsea will be there in the summer, as will Arsenal as they are massive fans of Rice for a long time too.
It may come down to which club Declan Rice prefers to join.
