Real Madrid will reportedly demand €60 million to part ways with 28-year-old French defender Ferland Mendy this summer.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Ferland Mendy is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos will not actively look to part ways with the 28-year-old defender during the summer transfer window.
Ferland Mendy has endured a rollercoaster ride since joining Real Madrid from Lyon in July 2019.
The French international enjoyed a solid start to his stint with Los Blancos, as he almost immediately usurped Marcelo as the first-choice left-back.
And Mendy’s position as Real Madrid’s first-choice left-back is under threat following the return of Fran Garcia.
Meanwhile, recent reports have linked Real Madrid with Alphonso Davies.
While Los Blancos will not actively look to part ways with Mendy, they will open the exit doors for him if a suitor shells out €60 million.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old defender does not have any shortage of interested clubs pursuing him.
With the Premier League clubs not shy of spending considerable sums to sign their top targets, Real Madrid can hope to recoup €60 million from Mendy’s sale.
But the report by Fichajes does not specify his suitors while mentioning he has interest emanating from the Premier League.
It will be interesting to see if any club will match Real Madrid’s asking price of €60 million to sign Mendy.
For now, the 28-year-old French international faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu heading into the summer transfer window.
