Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is 28 years old.
According to L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain is interested in signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for next season. They want additional competition for their number one place and have their sights set on Chelsea’s goalie.
Kepa Arrizabalaga attended Athletic Bilbao’s youth academy. He rose through the ranks of the club and broke into the first squad at an early age. While playing for the Spanish club, the 28-year-old rose from strength to strength.
His outstanding performances drew a lot of attention. Chelsea, on the other hand, won the competition for his services and signed him in a record-breaking €80 million deal during the summer of 2018.
Arrizabalaga’s career at Chelsea has been fraught with ups and downs. He has seen it everything, from dominant performances on the field to getting benched. His deal with the Blues is set to expire in the summer of 2025. However, Paris Saint-Germain are eager to lure him away from the club.
PSG already has Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Italian wonder. And, while one may believe they had everything under control in the goalkeeping department, their manager, Luis Enrique, has other ideas.
He wants to bring in another goalkeeper, and the Spanish manager wants fierce competition for the number one slot. Enrique is seeking for a different type of profile from the one he now has. The former Barcelona manager is looking for a goalkeeper with good feet.
As a result, the PSG manager has his sights set on Chelsea’s shot-stopper. They recently collaborated on the Spanish national team, when Enrique was the head coach. He must have noticed something admirable in the 28-year-old. As a result, he want to have him at his disposal.
While Enrique wants him at PSG, there are still no definite specifics about a prospective deal. If the move is approved, it will alter the landscape of both the team’s goalkeeping position. While the Blues have lost a number of players recently, it will be intriguing to see if they can afford to lose Arrizabalaga after previously selling Edouard Mendy.
