Newcastle United have reportedly offered €30 million plus Bruno Guimaraes for Barcelona’s Brazilian winger Raphinha.
According to a sensational tweet from Gerard Romero via JijantesFC, Newcastle United have offered €30 million plus key midfielder Bruno Guimaraes for Raphinha.
The story summarises that Barcelona’s desperate need for cash before June 30 could see them consider this deal, which with all due respect, seems like an overcooked rumour.
Newcastle United have been very interested in Raphinha for many months and were linked with making an offer this summer.
Miguel Almiron’s future has come under considerable doubt, and the club needs a quality player to lead their charge in the Champions League.
Romero claimed Newcastle United had tabled a bid consisting of €30 million plus key midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The last time Guimaraes was mentioned in reports was for a potential contract extension with Newcastle United.
The Premier League club wants to keep the midfielder, as solid reports suggested the Brazilian was ready to snub major clubs to remain at St James Park.
Yet, Romero insists Newcastle United offer the 26-year-old Barcelona star the above terms.
Logically, both Brazilians have a nearly equal value in the current market, and each club may hold out for at least €80 million or more for those players.
Hence, Romero seems to undervalue Guimaraes and suggests that Newcastle may consider the Brazilian dispensable.
These are plain rumours, although the Magpies could still hold concrete interest in Raphinha and might wait it out until late in this window.
