It was one of the stories of last summers transfer window that would constantly fill media reports.
The links between Manchester United and Pau Torres did not disappear until United signed Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.
Ten Hag decided against signing Torres in favour of signing the Argentine which already has proved to be a success.
However, a new report suggests that United’s interest in Torres has not disappeared.
United will be looking to sign a new centre back this summer as reports intensify regarding the possible departure of either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof.
The Spanish centre back has once again been linked with a move away from Villarreal.
Reports have linked Torres with a sensational reunion with Unai Emery at Aston Villa whilst United’s name has also creeped back into the frame.
According to the Mirror, United could revisit the player this summer.
The report says, “Manchester United have revived their interest in signing Villarreal defender Pau Torres in the summer transfer window as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his defence.”
“The 26-year-old is expected to leave Villarreal at the end of the season, however, Ten Hag’s side would have to make a huge offer to convince the La Liga side into selling him.”
