Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will compete with Arsenal in the race to sign Dutch attacker Xavi Simons from PSV Eindhoven.
According to a report by Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Xavi Simons.
The two Premier League clubs have joined Arsenal in pursuing the Dutch attacker.
Meanwhile, the PSV Eindhoven star is also a target for Paris Saint-Germain, who can re-sign him for a cut-price fee.
Xavi Simons has resurrected his stuttering career since joining PSV Eindhoven from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.
The 20-year-old thought he would seek regular first-team minutes at Parc des Princes when he left Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy.
The Dutch attacker amassed 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are among his prospective suitors.
As for Manchester United, the Red Devils are in the market for midfield and offensive reinforcements.
And with the deal to sign Mason Mount hitting a brick wall, Simons has emerged as a viable target.
So pursuing Xavi Simons makes sense for Tottenham.
But Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham need to be wary of PSG’s buyback clause.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that PSG can re-sign the Dutch attacker for just €6 million.
And the French champions are ready to trigger that clause to bring him back to Parc des Princes.
But the final decision rests with Simons, leaving Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham in with a chance to secure his services.
