Robert Lewandowski, one of the most outstanding forwards in the history of football, is in a moment of reflection about his future. The Polish player, currently in the ranks of FC Barcelona, has admitted that his performance is not the same as it used to be during his time at Bayern Munich and that he no longer has the same obsession with breaking records. In a recent interview, Lewandowski hinted that he doesn’t know what’s in store for him after his current contract at Barcelona, which is two years long and has an additional option.
Despite his impressive scoring record, Lewandowski has experienced a lackluster start to the current league season. Although he has managed to score two goals in the first four rounds, the Polish striker has not lived up to expectations. Surprisingly, instead of criticizing himself, Lewandowski has questioned the tactical approach of coach Xavi Hernández. However, later, in a more reflective attitude, the player expressed his happiness in Barcelona and highlighted that he is no longer the scoring “machine” that he used to be in Germany.
Lewandowski stated, in an interview with the newspaper AS, that his main objective at this stage of his career is to enjoy himself as much as possible. He has made it clear that breaking records is no longer his priority, but rather his focus is on helping his team win and enjoy the games. He has also mentioned that these could be his last years in the world of football, which adds uncertainty about his future after his contract in Barcelona.
Does not contemplate playing in Arabia
When asked about the possibility of playing in Saudi Arabia in the future, Lewandowski dismissed the idea and stated his happiness in Barcelona. He also mentioned that he had previously considered the possibility of joining the American MLS, but that after his experience in Barcelona, this idea no longer seems so attractive.
