Juventus’ terrible home record against Atalanta continued as they were held to a 3-3 draw at the Allianz Stadium for the sixth consecutive year, meaning the Old Lady have now surrendered eight goals in two Serie A games for the first time since 1988. Juventus were aiming to put a contentious week behind them as they faced an Atalanta team that had scored 13 goals in their previous two games.
Ademola Lookman beat Wojciech Szczsny at his near post to make it 1-0 just five minutes after conceding five top-flight goals for the first time since 1993 against SA leaders Napoli.
Atalanta began the second half the same way they began the first – by scoring right away. The hosts’ defense was caught off guard once more as Lookman outjumped Alex Sandro at the back post to head in for 3-2 and clinch Atalanta’s second successive brace.
To their credit, Juventus were undaunted by falling down for the second time and equalized 65 minutes in when a fantastic Di Mara backheel free-kick teed up Danilo to slam into the bottom corner.
