Gareth Southgate will be looking to get off to a good start in Group C, with North Macedonia and Malta being the other nations the Three Lions will face hoping to make it to the finals in Germany.
Kyle Walker, John Stones, Kalvin Phillips, Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have been named in the first squad since the World Cup in Qatar, with all five playing a part in the journey to the Quarter-Final.
Foden and Grealish have been involved in a healthy bit of competition for the starting place under Pep Guardiola, with the former Aston Villa man enjoying his best form since making the move to the Etihad, adding one goal and three assists in 13 games, 12 of those as the preferred option to start.

Foden has taken this in his stride and come back with four goals in the three starts he has been involved with, making this selection easy for the England manager.
Walker and Stones are considered senior figures within Guardiola’s side, and the same can be said for England’s defensive set-up.
As for Phillips, it will be a chance to get some minutes under his belt as he has been unable to play regularly at City due to the form of Rodri.
This could be a chance for the former Leeds United midfielder to cement his place in the England side and put in displays that catch the attention of Guardiola.
