Eurobasket 2022 is very close to coming to an end. This Sunday the bronze medal match between Germany and Poland will be played first, and then the grand final for gold between Spain and France.
This edition of the maximum national team tournament in Europe will go down in history as being one of the most spectacular in terms of the number of stars, shocking results, and feats to remember (like that of Sergio Scariolo’s National Team) of all time.
As a preview for the final, the American media Hoopshype.com has published a ranking, based on individual performance and impact, of the five best players in the tournament to date. And be careful, because there is a Spanish presence.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece): 37.92 points.
- Nikola Jokic (Serbia): 35.82 points.
- Lauri Markkanen (Finland): 34.68 points.
- Luka Doncic (Slovenia): 32.64 points.
- Willy Hernangómez (Spain): 28.91 points.
A tournament to make up for his past
It is no surprise that the eldest of the Hernangómez family is in fifth position in the ranking. Willy has shown, especially in attack, that he is a more than valid center for the basketball elite, and with this tournament it is hoped that he will finally begin to be taken into account for the coming years in the NBA. To this day he has not managed to settle in any of the projects in which he has been involved.
