Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing 26-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, a target for Tottenham.
Dean Henderson is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, and he has made quite an impression with regular football at the Premier League club.
A report from Football Insider claims that Chelsea have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the 26-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper.
Henderson has dropped down the pecking order at Manchester United, and he needed to leave on loan to play regularly.
The 26-year-old cannot afford to sit on the bench at a big club at this stage of his career.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are prepared to offer him the platform he needs in the coming seasons.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Manchester United goalkeeper as well.
The London club will have to bring in a quality goalkeeper at the end of the season, and Henderson certainly fits the profile.
The 26-year-old will be desperate to prove himself at a big club.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea or Spurs can agree on a reasonable fee with Manchester United.
Chelsea might not be able to provide the player with European football next season.
And it will be interesting to see if Henderson decides to hold out for a club in the Champions league.
Tottenham are currently fighting for a place in the top four and they are certainly better placed to secure Champions League football compared to their London rivals.
