Bizarre Theory Emerges Amid Emile Smith Rowe's Absence from Arsenal's Premier League Games
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Arsenal’s young talent Emile Smith Rowe has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season under the management of Mikel Arteta. This decision has raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike, leading to a curious theory being put forth.

Former Premier League striker and fervent Gunners supporter, Darren Bent, has openly questioned Arteta’s utilization of Smith Rowe in the first two games of the 2023/24 season. The young star was not even called upon as a substitute in the victories against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Smith Rowe’s sole playing time came during a brief three-minute stint off the bench in the Community Shield match against Manchester City.

Despite Smith Rowe’s significant role in Arteta’s previous rebuilding efforts, his recent playing time has been limited, largely due to a series of injury concerns last season. Bent has expressed his bewilderment at the player’s absence, stating, “I think there’s something going on there. I don’t know, I thought he’d certainly get given an opportunity but he hasn’t.”

Adding intrigue to the situation is Arteta’s preference for Kai Havertz, who has been consistently featured in the starting lineup for both of Arsenal’s opening fixtures. Havertz is positioned as a No.8 alongside Odegaard, with Declan Rice assuming the role of a single pivot behind them.

While speculation abounds regarding Arteta’s strategy, football experts at football.london have delved into the matter, shedding light on the significance of Havertz’s presence in Arteta’s tactical approach. The enigmatic scenario continues to puzzle fans and pundits, leaving them eager for further insight into Arteta’s decision-making process and the unfolding dynamics within the team.

According to AS, Chelsea are seriously considering making a move for Gavi and are ready to offer him a bumper financial package. The teenager’s future remains unchanged following his contractual situation with Barcelona, where he prefers to stay. Barcelona’s financial problems have gripped them hard and continue to pose problems for the club’s plans in the transfer market. While earlier, those issues were seen as a hindrance for buying new players in the summer; now it has crept into their current playing squad. Barcelona need to free up a significant sum in wages before they can make any signings. While they continue to consider the futures of several stars like Raphinha and Ansu Fati, they might lose prodigious talent Gavi on a free transfer. Gavi recently signed a lucrative new deal, significantly improving his salary and status within the squad. However, owing to some problems with those contracts due to Barcelona’s financial standing, La Liga reportedly deemed the whole agreement null and void, meaning Gavi is back on his old professional terms.
