Nobody in Zaragocismo is convinced of the work of the Salamanca coach, who has been given an ultimatum while Cordero brings together several candidates for the bench. The situation at Real Zaragoza is becoming increasingly concerning, and it is clear that Julio Velázquez was not the solution they were hoping for. Despite his arrival on November 20th, he has failed to erase the memory of Fran Escribá.

Velázquez’s performance has been questionable, with only three wins, five draws, and three losses in the 11 games he has officiated. These results are not enough for him to secure his position. However, the management has given him one last chance while also considering other options for the substitutes’ bench.

Cordero currently has three names on his agenda, but one stands out among the rest – Álvaro Cervera. Cervera is a well-known coach at Cádiz CF and CD Tenerife. He previously managed Real Oviedo for 40 games before leaving. His best references come from his time at Cádiz CF, where he spent over five years and successfully led the club to promotion to the first division. His overall record includes 258 games with 99 wins, 84 draws, and 76 defeats. In short, he is the most suitable candidate to take charge of the team.

While Cervera is the top choice, there is another name on the list – José Luis Martí. Although his coaching career is shorter, it is equally interesting. He has worked with teams such as Tenerife, La Coruña, Girona, Leganés, and Sporting de Gijón. His playing philosophy prioritizes the offensive aspect of the game.

Paco López is now in charge, and it’s not because he’s less effective than his predecessors. He is the final choice for Levante UD, as they prioritize Sillero after releasing Javi Calleja. Meanwhile, Cordero and the Zaragoza board are still negotiating, while Julio Velázquez faces challenging matches against Villarreal B and Amorebieta, where he needs to secure all 6 points.
